Pearls Before Swine Art Show

Art Show Submission Information

Pearls Before Swine Art Show is a juried competition organized by the Elgin Arts Association, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Entry fees are used to offset some of the costs of producing the exhibit, the Opening Gala, and awards.

The Opening Gala, featuring Two- and Three-Dimensional Art, will be hosted in Elgin, Texas, on Thursday evening, October 23rd, from 5pm - 9pm at The Clever Tiger, located at 114 Depot Street, Elgin, TX.  The gallery will be open during Hogeye weekend, October 24th - 25th with the following hours: Friday, 4pm - 6pm and Saturday, 10am - 6pm. The show will come down on Sunday, Oct 27th and the artist will need to make arrangements to pick up their pieces.

INDIVIDUAL ARTIST INFORMATION & GUIDELINES:

  • Artists must be 18 years of age or older. 
  • Work entered must be the original idea, design, and production of the submitting artist. Artwork created from premade kits by another artist/company will not be accepted. Reproductions of another artist's work will not be accepted.
  • Entries may not have been previously submitted to the Pearls Before Swine Art Show.
  • Entry Fee:  $20 per entry up to 4 pieces per artist.  Entry fee must be paid by Sept. 28th, 2025.
  • FIRST SUBMISSION FREE with current Elgin Art Association Membership. *NOTE: Membership does not guarantee acceptance. Go to elginartsassociation.org to pay entry fees and/or membership dues online or contact Megan Stuart at 512-913-8941      to pay over the phone.
  • Submissions due 11:59 pm,  September 30, 2025.
  • Entry fees must be paid in full no later than September 30th, 2025.
  • Entry fees are non-refundable.
  • Intake will begin Thursday,      October 9 to Sunday, October 12th. 
  • Accepted submissions may be placed for sale. No commission will be charged. Artists must complete the transaction. 
  • All accepted submissions will be eligible for judged awards.
  • Judged Awards: First Prize $300,      Second Prize $200, Third Prize $100.  Winners announced at the      Opening Gala, October 23, 2025
  • People's Choice Award:       $400.  Winner announced from Hogeye Festival, Main Stage at approximately 4:00 pm, Saturday, October 25, 2025. 

OPENING GALA

 The Opening Gala will be hosted in Elgin, Texas, on Thursday evening, October 23, 2025 from 5pm - 9pm at The Clever Tiger (114 Depot Street, Elgin, TX) with an awards presentation at 7 pm and a Silent Auction closing at 8pm.  

The Gala will include:

  • The announcement of Judged  Awards: First Prize $300, Second Prize $200, Third Prize $100 winners. 
  • Recognition of Pearls of the Community - local champions of the Arts.
  • The opening of Public Voting for the People's Choice Award.  Voting will continue until 2:00 pm on  Saturday, October 25, 2025.
  • A Silent Auction event - EAA’s primary fundraising event used to fund scholarships for local students pursuing higher education in an arts-related field.        Local businesses, individuals, and participating artists are encouraged to donate to the silent auction.

 APPLICATION: 

  • Complete form and submit electronically this Google Form. 
  • Application fee of $20 per entry must be paid prior to Sept 30th, 2025. FIRST SUBMISSION FREE with current Elgin Art Association Membership. Go to elginartsassociation.org to pay.
  • Payment may be made via cash,  check, or credit card. (See below.)
  • JPEG (.jpg) photos of pieces being submitted must be submitted as uploads to this form or via email to  megan.twistedgarage@gmail.com. Include the name of the artist and artwork in the subject line if emailing.
  • Applications must be received by midnight September 30, 2025.

ART SUBMISSION FOR JURY:

  • If submitting an entry by email, a JPEG image per entry must be submitted to megan.twistedgarage@gmail.com to accompany the application.  
  • If submitting entry online via  Google Form, images shall be uploaded within the application itself. 
  • Please send high-quality photos.
  • 2D Artwork Submissions: All artwork shall be limited to 150 square inches (height + length). If art is framed, include the frame in the measurement. 
  • Each piece must be ready to hang, no saw-tooth hangers or string.
  • 3D Artwork Submissions: 3D pieces may be of any size in a permanent medium as long as they fit through a standard-sized door. If a pedestal is required, it must be provided.
  • Jury Process: Works will be selected using a blind jury process. 
  • Accepted artists will be notified via email by October 2,  2025. 
  • Space considerations may limit the number of pieces selected per artist.

ART DELIVERY & PICK-UP:

  • Selected art must be delivered to The Clever Tiger (114 Depot, Elgin) between Thursday, October 9, to Sunday, October 12th, during normal business hours or by special appointment.
  • Works delivered late will not be received. Entrees without payment will also not be received.
  • Artists must be able to pick up their artwork on Sunday, October 26, between 12pm - 3pm or by special arrangement.

NOTE: All parties will take great care of your artwork; however, EAA assumes no liability for damage or loss of any individual's work. Participants exhibit at their own risk and are encouraged to obtain insurance on their pieces.
